Major updates! I am now an official organization! One Stop Crochet and Knit Shop LLC is officially registered with state and federal government. Woo!! However that means I must now charge sales tax on all Florida-bound orders (boo) but that's law so we roll with it right? Right.
Ben has added his mack daddy woodworking skills and we now have wooden crochet hooks and knitting needles for sale in the store. Best yet, they're made from reclaimed materials so you get to help the earth while making something cool. Score! Below are samples of his work. I think he rocked it!
In addition, I started my own yarn. Using a drop spindle takes time, but for a newbie I think I did pretty awesome! My spinning wheel is on its way and I can't wait. I experienced a whole new level of zen making yarn for the first time. My results are below. Mostly even, and definitely not bad for a beginner.
I also have been playing with Alpaca. I found some baby alpaca/merino wool mix yarn, undyed (colors are natural fur) and it is among the softest I have ever worked with. Here's a modified runners cap I finished. It was so warm and soft I had to sleep with it on.
I've ordered a sampler of different rovings to spin from, including cashmere, angora, silk and baby camel. Those will be future items because I do Not want to mess those up lol
Thank you for your support and encouragement during this growing pain. Here's some encouragement for you, too, and I hope it inspires you. Be blessed, and please leave me a comment. I love hearing from you.
